About the Program
A candidate enrolling in our First Holy Communion program must be at least 7 years of age that can read and write. Upon registration, you must submit a copy of the candidates' Baptism certificate and tuition fee. The duration for this program will be 2 years at Our Lady of Guadalupe, Chino.

Sacrament of First Holy Communion
It is a Catholic celebration where the person participates for the first time in the Sacrament of the Eucharist: The person receives the Body and Blood of Christ for the first time. Children receive First Communion at the age of approximately 9 years and older, after a preparation of at least 2 years, however, First Holy Communion can be receive at any age as long as the person is baptized. The Eucharist "COMMUNION" is part of the 3 Sacraments of Christian Initiation. The Eucharist means and realizes the communion of life with God and the Unity of the People of God.

Parent and Sponsor Requirements

Parents
- Participate actively in Mass.
- Participate in Parent Formation Classes.
- Participate in our Parent Patrol Program.
- If they are single, they must have complete all their Sacraments of Christian Initaiton and a copy of the certificates must be submitted. They must also not be living with anyone.
- If they are married, they must be married by the Catholic Church and must submit a copy of their Sacrament of Marriage. When the moment comes, Sponsors will be asked to come and participate in the Parent Formation Classes. This announcement will be given when the time comes.
